Aloette Enzyme Peel

Aloete Enzyme Peel
Aloette Enzyme Peel

This actually looks pretty interesting. I wonder if it works well with Rosacea? Normally anything that says “Enzyme” in it is too strong for my skin. The before and after pictures looks decent. And, I’ve heard that Aloette started by using a lot of Aloe in its products, so it might be quite soothing.

Any reviews of this product? If you’ve tried it, I’d love to hear your results.

Marlo Quinn - Soy Lip Balm

Filed under: Lip Balm, Marlo Quinn — admin @ 4:44 pm

I ordered some Marlo Quinn Soy Lip Balm last month because I hate the thought of putting petroleum on my 5 year old’s lips (since she eats it — yuck!).

I feel much better putting these ingredients on her lips:
Soybean Oil, Beeswax, Sunflower Seed Oil, Cocoa Seed Butter, Shea butter, Vitamin E, Flavor Oil

I ordered the loco cocoa scent and it smells just like chocolate. The balm is smooth and goes on easy and definitely makes my lips feel much better than using Vaseline-based products.

Here’s where you can order:
http://www.marloquinn.com/special

Pros: Affordable ($5 for a large container), natural ingredients, smooth, soft, and smells yummy.

Cons: I’d prefer if it came in a tube instead of a jar.

Let me know if you try it!

Review: Burt’s Bees Milk and Honey Body Lotion

Filed under: Lotions, Burt's Bees, Natural Beauty Brands — admin @ 4:08 pm

Reviewer: Carrie Lauth, GA
Where to buy: www.burtsbees.com

Description: Burt’s Bees offers a lightly scented body lotion with Vitamin E and Aloe for normal to dry skin.

Review: I’m a big fan of all the Burt’s Bees products and the Milk and Honey body lotion is one of my favorites.

The lotion has a very light scent that is not at all overpowering and won’t interfere with your perfume, but is nice on its own. I like to use it all over my body when I get out of the shower, and even in the summer it’s not heavy. It is safe for both adults and babies. I love to use it on my babies after their bath.

Some may not like the fact that the lotion seems watery, but in my experience, it moisturizes just as well as thicker lotions.

If you are going on vacation and want to pack light, bring this lotion along. It’s great for all members of the family from young to old, can be used as a shaving lotion, facial moisturizer and I’ve found that it even works beautifully as a light leave on conditioner for my hair.

Arbonne International

Filed under: Arbonne, Natural Beauty Brands — admin @ 3:18 pm

Arbonne was created in 1975 in Switzerland by a man named Petter Mørck (and him team of biologists and herbalists) who wanted to create an effective skin care line of beauty products.

Arbonne crossed the sea to the United States in 1980 where it has grown into a huge company.

The Arbonne product lines include anti-aging skin care, baby skin care, men’s skin care, beauty and cosmetics, weight loss, vitamins and various other items.

Review: Arbonne Awaken Sea Salt Scrub

Filed under: Scrubs, Arbonne — admin @ 3:15 pm

I have one word for Arbonne’s Awaken Sea Salt Scrub. “Heaven”. I love this stuff.

The smell is perfect. Not perfumey, not flowery, just fresh. A mix of citrus and herbs.

The consistency is wonderful. You wet  your skin, rub the sea salt scrub on, let the oils soak in and the aromatherapy work, and then wash it off. I’ve got to say, this is one of my favorite products for dry skin.

As far as negatives? The only one I can think of is price. It’s a little expensive compared to many over-the-counter brands. And, it has to be purchased through an Arbonne Consultant — which can sometimes be hard to find.

However, the Arbonne Awaken Sea Salt Scrub gets two thumbs up from the Natural Beauty crew here.

Review: Tom’s of Maine Natural Tartar Control & Whitening Toothpaste - Peppermint

Filed under: Tom's of Maine, Toothpaste — admin @ 3:58 pm

I’m going to start this review off by saying I’m a big fan of Tom’s of Maine. The company has great ethics and a great vision and I love many of their products.

Unfortunately, I’m not a big fan of their Natural Tartar Control & Whitening Toothpaste - Peppermint, 6 oz. I’ve tried to love it and I just can’t. You know that feeling when you brush your teeth 2 times and you still don’t feel like you can whisper to a friend? That’s how this toothpaste leaves me feeling.

Obviously, I’m a huge fan of natural products, and, like I said, Tom’s of Maine is a great company, but I just can’t give this product a good review.

If you’re using Tom’s of Natural Tartar Control & Whitening Toothpaste - Peppermint at home, please let us know what YOU think.

Review: Aveeno Cleanser with Soy Extracts

Filed under: Skin Cleansers, Aveeno — admin @ 3:37 pm

My most recent test product is Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser with Soy Extracts.

The Aveeno product descriptions states:

Brings out skin’s natural radiance. Helps even out skin tone and texture. Oil-free. Hypoallergenic. Soap-free. Noncomedogenic. Lifts away dirt, oil and makeup without over-drying for naturally radiant skin.

I have very sensitive skin, so I thought this would be a great product to try.

First the pros - The Aveeno cleanser comes in a nice pump and it smells wonderful. It is a pearl-looking cleanser and is very smooth. The cleanser cleaned my skin well and it felt smooth afterwards.

The cons - My face was slightly red after cleansing. If you have highly sensitive skin, this one might not be the best skin care product for you.

If you use Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser at home, please let us know what YOU think.
